Sign Fab: A Year in Review and What Lies Ahead

in Dec 23, 2024

Sign Fab strives to exceed customer expectations consistently, and over the past year, we’ve worked diligently to meet that vision. From innovating new products to making investments in new facilities, equipment, and training, we set a firm foundation for 2025 to do more for our customers than ever before.

Products & Services
New products were front-and-center in 2024, led by the introduction of WOWee!® Brand 3-D Channel Letters and Signs. These miniature 3-D-printed marvels allowed Sign Fab to offer high-quality illuminated channel letters from 2″ to 10″ in height and sparked the creation of an entirely new 3-D Division within the company.

With their vibrant colors and variety of lighting options, WOWee!® products were a hit from the start, earning praise from attendees at the 2024 International Sign Association Convention and attracting media coverage from SignsOfTheTimes.com.

Today, with consistent demand for both WOWee!® products, including 3-D printed letters that enhance other types of signage; the 3-D Division will expand further in 2025 and is on track to develop new printing, assembly, and lighting features, meaning the future of WOWee!® is just getting started.

WOWee!® is just one among several new Budget-Friendly Products introduced in 2024, all of which are UL-listed and made in the USA. Other Budget-Friendly Products include:

Horizon Line Shoebox Signs are similar to traditional ones but feature lightweight, durable ACM construction. These signs have multiple faces, styles, and lighting options, including push-through letters. Perfect for indoor and outdoor use, Horizon Line signs offer the premium features of aluminum box signs—at half the price.

Trimless Channel Letters are sleek, seamless letters that provide a modern look in nearly any size down to a 1-inch stroke. With customizable face and lighting options, they’re perfect as standalone features or part of larger displays.

Structurally Bonded Letters and Signs use aerospace-grade adhesive to replace traditional welding, creating seamless, durable signs at a fraction of the cost.

Services were also expanded in 2024, most notably at Sign Fab’s sister company, Charleston Sign Manufacturing, with the creation of the Charleston Distribution Network, which includes the QuickShip Express Signage Program.
With pre-set sizes and prices of its Series 225 and 325 post-and-panel signs, CSM made standard signage available in as little as 3 business days through its authorized distributors

Equipment
New products don’t happen without new infrastructure, and Sign Fab made several moves over 2024 to operationalize its strategy for growth:

— Laser Machine Technology has taken precision cutting to new heights and is now used for all metal-cut products, including extrusions, raceways, and custom-made metal signage.

— Flatbed Printing Technology was expanded in 2024, adding speed and improved image quality to a range of high-quality printed products and printed vinyl options Sign Fab has taken pride in for years.

Facilities
To accommodate growth in innovation and integration, Sign Fab expanded its facilities in 2024, most notably with the completion of its newest facility, which expanded its total operational space beyond 100,000 square feet.
Now known as “P5,” this latest addition serves as a vehicle maintenance center, warehouse, laser-equipment facility, and the home of Sign Fab’s sister company, Encompass-More Sign & Manufacturing Supplies.
Sign Fab also repurposed existing space in 2024, remodeling its original headquarters into a home for the 3-D Division, now known as “P6.” However, with the speed of growth in 3-D printing, the 3-D Division will expand further in 2025, moving its paint and assembly operations into the company’s original manufacturing plant.

Training
Training has always been a priority at Sign Fab, and it took on new dimensions in 2024.
Not only were in-depth training sessions held for machinists and operators running new systems, but also basic familiarity training for sales staff. This two-tier approach is designed to build high competency inside each plant as well as an accurate knowledge base for quoters to serve our customers better.
A new Leadership Training Program also took shape for managers at all levels. It will continue into 2025 and beyond to create a productive and inspiring corporate culture and synergy between departments.

Sales Kits
Sign Fab’s innovations and growth in 2024 will also be reflected in its new 2025 Sales Kits. Available to retail sign companies, each kit includes an illuminated channel letter, color charts outlining vinyl, trim, and return options, a professional carrying case, the most current Sign Fab Sign Guide, and more.

With new growth and innovation in place and more in the planning stages for 2025, Sign Fab will continue to do more for our customers, offering creative, attractive, high-quality signage solutions that enhance their business image.
